My thoughts on euthanasia <(*o*)>

Euthanasia is something that can fill a family with humility because they have to make a desicion with someones life on the line and inevitability they have to make a choice.I think euthanasia is a legitamate way to end an individual's life. I just think that all outcomes must be weighed with good judgement before the conclusion of killing the person has been reached. I think that there are obviously exceptions and those are the circumstances that the people involved are in. If someone is extremely ill, in a coma, and can't lead a normal life then you can consider euthanasia an option. Another exception is how long my past example has been going on. If someone has been in a coma for a week then you might want to be more reluctant towards euthanasia. But if someone has been in a coma for seventeen years and they've become an appendage to the hospital, it's probably time to give up.

"MERCY" KILLING euthanasia

1a. What i think George's perspective on why he killed Lennie is that he thought it would be best in the end for every one. Lennie most likely would've been killed by Curley if George didn't do it and if they ran away it would have been the same thing over again. If George wouldn't have killed him Curley would have and at least George made Lennie's last moments on earth happier.

1b. I think that it was an okay thing to do. Another option that George could have taken was running away with Lennie. If George let Lennie escape he'd probably still be alive but George most likely put into consideration that Lennie probably would've gotten in trouble again. If I was in the same situation I probably wouldn't have killed Lennie but if I did I would've at least said more to Lennie.

2a. I think that the father allowed his daughter to die after years of being in a vegetative state because he felt that it would be best for everyone. To show why I think this, I chose a quote from CBCnews.ca, "...Late last year, 67-year-old
Beppino Englaro, won an intense 10-year legal battle to allow his daughter's feeding tubes to be removed, saying that was her wish." I think he felt like it would be okay because she told him before that she wouldn't want to be kept on life-support.

2b. I probably would have done the same thing if put in that position because after a long time her state most likely wouldn't change. To show this,"Eluana Englaro, who had been in a vegetative state for 17 years, died Feb. 9 in a clinic in the city of Udine...". That shows that she has been in the same state for seventeen years and no progress was made. Waiting any longer wouldn't make a difference.

2c. I think if I had to choose, I would let her pass away. I would let her die because I don't think she would get better if she stayed on life support. If there was a big enough chance that she would recover and be able to lead a regular life I would wait for her to get better.

3a. I think he thought of himself as a failure to his family and society and decided it would be best to end his life. He didn't want to go through with the problems because he knew they were going to worsen. He didn't want to continue with his hardships so he decided just to end it.

3b.Some ways a parent could continue supporting and help them succeed in life without money are just giving the children values to live by. It would help the children by giving them life lessons that would make them wiser and help them succeed in the long run. You can also help your child by helping them in school and encouraging them to continue learning so they can live better in the future

1. This is image shows a building before the atomic bombing by the United States. I think this building looks alot like a building that would be in the states and it makes you imagine what it must have been like to be in there as the bombing occured. This picture makes me think that it is unfair to kill all those innocent people in war and how easily it can happen to the place that I live in or some place close.

2. The Mushroom Cloud caused by the atomic bombing on Hiroshima rose higher than 60.000 feet, as seen in the image. It happened at 8:16 a.m. and covered the entire city in thick black smoke. 30 seconds after the bomb exploded the Enola Gay circled to get a better view of what was happening. By that time the smoke was way above their plane kept rising. I think that this bombing was horrible and shouldn't have been done and shouldn't be done in the near future.

2nd Assignment: Views on Abortion

1. What is your stance on abortion? Give three reasons why (this is your own thoughts). Explain clearly and use a lot of detail. - 5 points

I am pretty undecided on the whole abortion debate. But I am leaning more towards the Pro-Life side. This is because even though I support women being able to do whatever they want with their bodies, I think that shouldn't include taking away a baby's chance at life. I think that babies have the right to life so women should consider giving the baby up for adoption if they don't want the child. I also think that abortions shouldn't be the only option when women that want to continue their careers. Our government should put out laws that let women become pregnant and come back from pregnancy in a way that doesn't kill the women's career or the baby.

2. Copy/paste evidence that supports that supports your views. Make sure you use quotation marks
(" ") because these are NOT your words. - 3 points

"There are women who are raped and become pregnant; the problem is that they were raped, not that they are pregnant".

3. Explain the quote you chose for number 2 in your own words.

The gist of this passage is basically that you might think that being pregnant is the problem when the problem is where the baby will be born into. It would be a more better choice to not abort the baby and give the baby away to family that will love it. Even if you didn't even voluntarily get pregnant (or have sex) it's not the babies fault

4. Repeat step 2 with a new quote

"If men are to achieve full sexual freedom (i.e. the freedom to have sex without responsibility) it is essential that abortion be freely available to backup contraception.
So abortion on demand is vital if men are to be able to have women on demand, and thus men are arguing for abortion so that they can continue to exploit women."

5. Repeat step 3 with the new quote.

This quote shows that most people that support abortion are men that want to take the easy way out and have sex with all the women they want and not face any concequences like taking care of a child. To support abortion is to support women being objectified and treated unequally by men. If society really wants men and women to be equal they should make it possible for women to get in and out of pregnancy without hurting her career, her, and more inportantly the child.

1st Assignment: Powerful Pix

1.

2. Answer in a complete sentence: What is this picture about?
This picture shows some people working at an oil rig which is where people get oil. It's relevent because of the price of oil which is soaring and doesn't seem to stop.
3. What message does this picture present to you? Why?
The message that this picture gives me is that people are working too hard on harvesting oil. I think they should try to improve alternate sources for fuels so it saves us cash and our enviroment.
4.Can you relate your life to this picture? Why or why not?
I can relate this picture to my life because the rising oil prices are hurting the economy in which I live in. It also affects me because the rising prices make my family be more careful on how we spend money. I think that the rising prices on gas affects everyone in one way or another. It just depends on how badly it affects you.
